Maksim Liksutov announced that over the past year, the number of female train drivers in the Moscow Metro has increased by 30%.
Today, they operate modern Moskva trains on two metro lines: Line 4 and Line 15
Before becoming train operators, each of them completed training at the Corporate University of Moscow Transport.
Interesting fact: On the Line 4, all train drivers—both men and women—work alongside assistants. This is the only metro line not equipped with the ALS-ARS system (automatic locomotive signaling with automatic speed regulation), requiring two-person train operation.
Women returned to the profession of train operators in the Moscow Metro in January 2021, and their number continues to grow. Today, 120 female train operators and their assistants operate trains. We are creating comfortable working conditions for all employees, in line with the initiative of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, added Maksim Liksutov.
